Mark Saltzman

Mark Saltzman

Partner | BA LLB (University of the Witwatersrand)

Mark founded Saltzman Attorneys in 2006. Prior to this, he was a Candidate Attorney at Gerald Olitzki Attorneys and thereafter an Associate at Schindlers Attorneys. Mark is a well-respected and highly qualified legal practitioner with a broad spectrum of legal knowledge spanning various fields. He specialises in commercial and general litigation, commercial transactions, and the drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts.

Adam Levin

Partner | BA LLB (University of the Witwatersrand)

Adam was admitted as an attorney in 2000. He completed his articles and first few years of practice at Moss Morris Attorneys, after which he worked for Discovery Health as Legal Counsel and Senior Compliance Officer.

Adam has also previously practiced law on his own account and as a director at Tabacks Attorneys. Adam joined Saltzman Attorneys in 2018.

Adam specialises in corporate and commercial work, especially mergers and acquisitions, and has been involved in many transactions for private, listed, and multinational companies, some going into the billions of Rand. He has a special interest in medical schemes and managed healthcare as well as in the corporate and commercial law aspects of the life sciences, i.e. healthcare law.

Francois Terblanche

Consultant | BCom LLB (University of Johannesburg)

Francois holds BCom (Law) and LLB degrees – both cum laude – as well as an LLM degree in banking
law, all from the University of Johannesburg. He is also an admitted solicitor in England and Wales.

Francois spent the first seven years of his career at Edward Nathan and Friedland (now named
ENSafrica), mainly in its commercial law department, during which time he was appointed as a
director of the firm. He then moved to London and joined the corporate law department of
international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Upon his return to South Africa, he was
appointed the head of the corporate and commercial law department of Knowles Husain Lindsay, a
position he held for 13 years. He joined Saltzman Attorneys as a consultant in 2024.
Francois specialises in corporate and commercial law, particularly in mergers and acquisitions and
company constitutional documents, such as memoranda of incorporation and shareholders
agreements.

Johannes Dube

Associate | BA LLB (University of Johannesburg)

Johannes graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 2015. He holds a B.A and LLB degrees.

Johannes joined Saltzman Attorneys & Notaries as a Candidate Legal Practitioner in the litigation department in 2018. He was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in 2020. Johannes has appeared in various Magistrate’s Courts with experience in Evictions, Road Accident Fund Claims, Municipal disputes, drafting of High Court pleadings, general litigation and assists in complex Superior Court litigation.

Shimon Hirschowitz

Associate | BCom LLB (University of South Africa)

Shimon holds BCom (Law) and LLB degrees from Unisa (the University of South Africa). He began his
career as a candidate attorney at Landau Attorneys, a firm specialising in debt collection and
recoveries. He then moved to McCormick Londt as an associate before joining MG Attorneys, where
he gained extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, family law, and labour law. He
joined Saltzman Attorneys in 2023.

Shimon represents a diverse range of clients, including listed and private companies, in both High
Court and Magistrates Court commercial litigation. In addition, he manages various family law and
labour law matters. He has appeared in the Magistrates’ Courts, Children’s Court, Maintenance
Court, Domestic Violence Court, C.C.M.A. and numerous bargaining councils.
